By the juxtaposition of tropical flowers found in Puerto Rico with the human subjects, Zuania creates pleasant and aesthetic compositions which allow her to celebrate the beauty and the symbiotic relationship between humans and plants in the tropics. This celebration is visually possible through her series of portraits, were every floral arrangement is manually made.
As part of her creative process, Zuania uses a grammar characteristic of Spanish , her native language, to choose her human subject. Her selection is based by the use of the definite article, which conveys a binomial differentiation between feminine and masculine.
Her photography work can be characterized as constructed, staged and stylized, with unrelenting pursuit of detail.
